Floyd Bennett Field Sunset

We stopped briefly at Floyd Bennett Field, in Brooklyn so I could photograph the sunset.

High Line and Little Island at Sunset

It is a little cooler in the evenings and many people go to the Parks by the Hudson River to enjoy the sunset.

Hudson River Park

Hudson River Park at sunset. I was testing how much light and noise is created when using my my new 2x teleconverter for the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f /2.8 VR S lens on my Nikon Z7. This 2x teleconverter gives the lens a 100% boost (effectively giving me a 140-400mm f/5.6 – loosing ~2 stops of light). I think the results of these photos taken in low light after noise reduction in post are acceptable. Once a long time ago I tried a 2x teleconverter on an f/5.6 lens it lost so much light the images were too grainy to use.

Leeds Point

On Sunday we drove down to Edwin B. Forsythe NWR in New Jersey. We stopped at the Oyster Creek Restaurant for a seafood dinner out in the wetlands on the way home. Out back there were boats camouflaged for duck hunting. In the first photograph there is a deer made of grasses in the far right. I didn’t see it until I looked closely at the photograph. I’ll be posting more in the next couple of days.

Gov Isl Sunset and Dawn

A benefit of staying overnight on the Island is we got to see a wonderful sunset and dawn. These images are undoctored.

Libety and Ellis

The B&H cruise sailed out into the Upper New York Bay out to the Stature of Liberty.

The 82-foot schooner, Shearwater, was hand built in 1929 from native hardwoods. It is a New York City floating designated landmark.

Hudson After a Storm

A team effort by my husband, Marc, and I. I wasn’t able to go out on July 25, 2016, so I adjusted the camera settings and sent Marc down the block to take some shots of what I could tell would be a lovely post thunderstorm sunset. The photos were a bit too dark but I was able to fix that in  Lightroom.
